Alexandra Dock Biomass Power Station- Renewable energy project in Merseyside area, Liverpool

Economic Benefits

The construction and operation of the Alexandra Dock Biomass Power Station will have a positive effect on the Sefton and wider Merseyside economy. We anticipate that approximately 200 to 300 employees will be required during the peak of construction of the facility.

It is our policy to use local firms where practical during the construction phase (expected to be approximately two years), when short to medium-term jobs will be created and we will be looking for local and regional businesses that can provide people, services and materials.

Once built, the plant will create an estimated 40 permanent jobs at the facility itself. Most of these jobs will be filled by local workers. In addition, the power staion will create positive benefits through providing economic activity at the Port. Not only will the power station provide income for the Port, but the materials handling required will provide further employment opportunities.

Benefits will extend to the wider community as locally provided goods and services are used at Alexandra Dock and employees spend their incomes locally on goods, services and housing.
