Article 9: Inspection of air conditioning systems

A working group including members of CIBSE, FETA, ACRIB, HVCA and ODPM are currently developing a guidance document which will describe a procedure for carrying out the inspection of air conditioning systems. The document will address reporting outcomes to comply with the Directive's requirements.

The group is also considering the skills and training that would be necessary as well as any need for accreditation of inspectors. Pete Grigg of BRE Environment has been drafting the document, with support from the ODPM and the working group members. It is intended that the draft document should soon be made available for wider comment on the CIBSE and FETA websites.

An early draft of the document has also been provided as input to the working group of CEN TC 156 which is also tasked with producing a European Standard for the Article 9: Air Conditioning inspection.
