ODPM has issued a consultation document with proposals for revision of Part L of the Building Regulations for England and Wales. The document can be downloaded from the ODPM website at

The consultation closes on 22 October 2004. All people and organisations with a view on the proposed revisions are urged to respond to the consultation. A response form is included in the consultation package.

The revised Part L  is seen as the primary route for implementing the European Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings. The Directive can be viewed at the following address:
